Current lighting project for an up-market wine estate along the wine route
Client – Rumourhasit interior designers
We were approached by Rumourhasit to pitch a whale inspired lighting design.
Typically wildetecture style – we pitched our ideas individually – then created a design that was universal between the 3 of us.
Positioned in the wine bar of an exclusive new wine estate – the chandelier needed to emphasize their brand logo and provide a powerful centre piece. The design has evolved to a more minimalist style incorporating only the main body -
With a 3m span – it has quite a presence – the light escapes between its ribbed profile- and provides a warm dynamic light.
The lighting is stepped to provide shadow and depth of colour similar to the shape and colour scheme of your typical humpback whale – profile cut outs follow this form.
Through these profiles we tried to catch the form of the whale without molding a closed picture and provide fragmented lighting that create various forms as you approach it from different angles in the space.
